Your First Article

Now that you've set up your account and workspace, it's time to create your first article! This guide walks you through the Blog Projects feature—the recommended way to create high-quality, SEO-optimized content.

Two Ways to Create Content

Kalema offers two main ways to create articles:

  • Blog Projects: Step-by-step guided workflow for creating individual articles with full control over each stage (recommended for beginners)

  • AutoBlog: Automated bulk article generation for creating multiple articles at once

For your first article, we'll use Blog Projects since it gives you the best learning experience.

Step 1: Go to Blog Projects

From your dashboard, click on "Blog" in the sidebar, then select "Projects".

Step 2: Create a New Blog

Click the "Create Blog" button in the top right corner.

Enter Blog Details

In the dialog that appears:

  • Blog Name: Enter a name for your blog category (e.g., "Tech Reviews", "Marketing Tips")

  • Description: Optional description to help you organize your projects

Click "Create" to create your blog.

Step 3: Start a New Article

Once your blog is created, click on it to open it. Then click "New Article" to start the article creation wizard.

Step 4: Follow the Article Wizard

The article wizard guides you through 11 steps to create a fully optimized article:

  1. Basic Setup: Enter your topic or content idea

  2. Business Profile: Define your target audience and goals

  3. Keyword Research: Choose primary and secondary keywords

  4. Research: Add web sources or upload files for reference

  5. Content Outline: Generate and customize your article structure

  6. Content Brief: Review the detailed brief before writing

  7. AI Writing Settings: Choose tone, creativity level, and style

  8. Media & Formatting: Configure images and formatting options

  9. Title & Meta: Generate SEO-optimized title and description

  10. Linking: Add internal and external links

  11. Publishing: Save as draft or publish to your CMS

Step 5: Generate Your Article

As you move through each step, the AI will help you:

  • Suggest relevant keywords based on your topic

  • Create a structured outline

  • Write the full article content

  • Generate images that match your brand

  • Optimize everything for search engines

Step 6: Review and Edit

After the article is generated, you can:

  • Edit the content directly in the built-in editor

  • Adjust headings, add paragraphs, or remove sections

  • Replace or regenerate images

  • Fine-tune the SEO elements

Step 7: Save or Publish

When you're happy with your article, you have two options:

  • Save as Draft: Keep the article in Kalema for later editing

  • Publish: Send directly to your connected CMS (WordPress or Shopify)
