Understanding Credits
Credits are the currency that powers all AI features in Kalema. Every time you use an AI tool—like generating articles, analyzing content, or creating images—credits are deducted from your balance.
How Credits Work
Think of credits like fuel for your content creation. Different tools use different amounts of credits based on their complexity:
Simple tasks (keyword suggestions, meta descriptions): Use fewer credits
Complex tasks (full article generation, image creation): Use more credits
Your credit balance is shown in your account and updates in real-time as you use AI features.

Types of Credits
There are two types of credits in Kalema:
1. Subscription Credits
These credits come with your monthly or yearly subscription plan:
Solo Plan: 980 credits per month
Business Plan: 2,200 credits per month
Agency Plan: 4,500 credits per month
Important: Subscription credits renew each billing cycle. Unused subscription credits do not roll over to the next month.
2. Purchased Credits (Permanent)
You can buy additional credit packages that never expire:
Small Package: 1,000 credits for $50
Medium Package: 5,000 credits for $250
Large Package: 10,000 credits for $500
Purchased credits are permanent and remain in your account until you use them.

Credit Usage Priority
When you use AI features, Kalema automatically deducts credits in this order:
Subscription credits are used first (since they expire monthly)
Purchased credits are used after subscription credits run out
This ensures you get the most value from your subscription before using your permanent credits.
Checking Your Credit Balance
You can check your current credit balance at any time:
Look at the sidebar—your credit balance is displayed there
Or click on it to get more details

What Happens When Credits Run Out?
If you run out of credits:
You'll see an "Insufficient Credits" message when trying to use AI features
You can either wait for your subscription credits to renew or purchase additional credits
Tip: Keep an eye on your credit balance, especially during busy content creation periods. Consider purchasing a credit package if you frequently run low before your renewal date.
